My first mural project was made possible by Erind Halilah and Charity Sadoy as they bring Casa Fina, a new Spanish tapas restaurant, to life in the heart of Austin. Over the course of painting this mural, the experience became defined by endless cold brews from Carpenter Coffee next door and countless impromptu Texas thunderstorms that had me constructing makeshift shelters just to keep painting. Somehow, those moments made the entire process even more memorable.

The mural's color palette draws inspiration from the terracotta rooftops and deep blue waters that define the Spanish coastline. The red octopus further ties into the space, echoing the terracotta tiles that line the restaurant's interior bar. I'm especially excited by the thought of guests sipping a cold drink on the back patio, gathering in the presence of the octopus, and creating memories of their own.
