Holly Prinz is a self-taught artist based in Austin, Texas. Her artistic journey stretches as far back as she can remember, when she started writing and illustrating her own picture books as a young child. Throughout her educational years, she often saved class notes for the intricate doodles sketched in the margins. As she grew into her twenties, she realized a larger canvas was what she needed.
After working with charcoal for most of her art career and honing in on realism, Holly felt the itch to explore new mediums and the use of color. Her work draws inspiration from anything— a song lyric, fashion, body language, anonymity, nostalgia or simply a fleeting feeling. While embracing more realistic colors, she looks for ways to weave in elements of light and texture into her pieces.
For Holly, art is a way to quiet the noise and translate a deep internal feeling into a visual concept. As a young artist, she sees her style as ever-evolving, growing alongside her experiences and the life still ahead of her.
